Travel in Corsica

Take your time to enjoy the 'Island of Beauty'

Corsica is well known for its great landscapes and also the famous GR20 , probably the most famous hiking trail in Europe. This trail goes from north to South across the island. It's a 180kms long journey.
However, if you feel more like enjoying beaches and great cheese, this is also the place to go. Corsica has some rare unspoiled beaches where you will be able to enjoy a moment of quietness. Fishing is part of the regional culture of Corsica, don't miss out on a great fishing trip.

The Famous GR20

To enjoy one of the best hiking experiences in the world, you will just have to walk 180kms. Indeed, the GR20 is a quite demanding journey but certainly one that you will remember forever. It goes from the village of Calenzana to Conca. It takes about 14 to 15 days to complete the track. The trail is equipped with basic accommodations called 'refuge'. Note: you can only plant your tent near a 'refuge' It's not authorised to plant a tent near the trail for security purposes. This trail is accessible to average hikers but you will need a good health condition and a proper training before you decide to do the GR20.

Weather is Corsica

Mountain Corsica

From Sea to Snow

The coastal part of the island is generally very warm and it's the perfect destination during the cold European winter. However, in the mountains (mostly in the centre of the island), you will be able to encounter some snow.

The great thing about Corsica is that you can have the best view on the sea by driving only few minutes in the mountains.

Food in Corsica

Food Corsica

The best of French and Italian Cuisine

Corsica has a very specific type of cuisine. It's a mix between French and Italian Food. The food is generally using local products such as goat cheese and olive oil. Some products are a bit more 'eccentric' like the original Fresh Goat Cheese with living worms. According to the locals, it's a delicacy.
Don't worry; this is a very exceptional product to encounter and more a tradition than a day to day meal.

Where to stay in Corsica?

Hotels Corsica

Ajacacio, Bonifacio and more...

This island is so beautiful, with so much variety, it won't be easy to select a place to stay. We suggest that you visit the entire island. It will take you a week or two. It's probably a good idea to stay one day in each hotel and move around. The culture and the people is quite different between the north and the south part of the island. It will be a great experience.
