- Visit Annecy: A beautiful city with a fantastic lake surrounded by mountains. This is the place to go in August when the 'lake party' takes place. Fireworks and light show like you've never seen before. Annecy is also the city hosting the national festival of animated movies. Enjoy the latest animated movies on a big screen outside.
- Visit Albertville : the Olympic city of the winter games 1992. This destination is more a stopover than a destination to stay. Indeed, it's worth having a look at the old city of Conflans. A true 'Savoyard' village.
- Visit Chamonix: A beautiful and true ‘Savoyard' (from the Savoie region) style city. You will have to experience the amazing ‘Fondue Savoyarde' (cheese fondue) and the Raclette (Melt cheese and potatoes).
- Visit Grenoble: this is the capital city of the French Alps. Even if Grenoble is not really in the centre of the French Alps, it's a great place to go to visit a city with an amazing architecture and history. Take the cable car to go at the top of the Bastille (a mountain) and enjoy a great view over the city. Grenoble is a really famous city for its Synchrotron a high technology beam line for scientific experiment.
- Visit Chambery: another nice city to visit. A nice lake surrounded by mountains, the Chambery Lake is known to be less touristic than the one in Annecy.
What are the ski resorts?

- Visit Tignes: welcome to the higesht city in Europe. It culminates at 2142 metres above sea level in the Tarentaise valley. Tignes is famous for its glacier of 'La Grande Motte'. The ski field are grouped with the ‘Val d'Isère’ fields to form the 'Espace Killy' (Killy was a former ski champion of the region)
- Visit Courchevel: the most exquisite station in France. People usually compare Courchevel to other very expensive station such as Aspen and Gstaad. A very expensive destination, but if can afford it, this will be a high class experience.
- Visit La Plagne: 130 ski fields, over 225km of great downhill skiing. You can ski up to 3250 metres above sea level. This is a great resort for snowboarders.
- Visit Megève: this city was considered to be the city of the French 'Jet set' in the early 80's. Great ski fields, great sport infrastructures during summer or winter.
- Visit Les Saisies: 1663 metres above sea level, in the city of Hauteluce, the resort of 'Les Saisies' is certainly one of the most exciting places to ski. Indeed, you can go from one resort to another thanks to the chairlifts.
- Visit Avoriaz: one of the best ski resort in France and also the place of an annual film festival. An amazing place to go especially because cars aren't allowed in the city.
